October 6, 2015 – Breadwinner Cycles

The first #jbracer we built way back in 2012 had a 36mm headtube and only fit straight steerer forks. Shortly after we started using the @paragonmachine 44mm headtubes and we’ve never looked back. We recently replaced the front triangle on the first JB and here it is with new paint by @colorworkspalette. Still shreds just as hard!

It's not often someone - instead of us - assembles

It's not often someone - instead of us - assembles one of our custom handbuilt steel bicycles. But when it happens, it's usually a pretty special experience.

@Hyperbikestore in Indonesia came to us with a concept of emulating our display bike from the 2022 Chris King open house.

As with all Breadwinner bikes, the design choices are yours (we'll advise and help you select) and the folks at Hyper Bike Store crafted a beautiful array.

Built with @bikethomson stem and seatpost, @envecomposites handlebar, @eastoncycling EC90SL crankset, and of course an assortment of @chriskingbuzz components (R45D hubs, InSet8 headset, and T47 30x bottom bracket) in Midnight finish.

The hubs are laced with @pillarspokes double butted spokes to @lightbicycle AR35 rims and wrapped with @panaracer_world world 35mm Gravel King tires, while @shimanoroad Ultegra Di2 12-speed groupset is on braking and transmission duty. Other details including @selle_italia saddle, @peatysproducts tubeless valves and @ron_kingcage stainless bottle cages.

Whoever said you should ride like everyone else?

Explore far off places with the Breadwinner Komorebi.

🌳 The Japanese word for “sunlight filtering through the leaves of trees” inspired this bikepacking bicycle built for self-sufficiency and exploration.

An evolution of our classic mountain bike, the Komorebi is built with a rigid segmented fork with braze-ons for water, fuel bottles or additional gear. We can design around 27.5″ or 29″ wheels.

The frame was designed to carry frame bags and three water bottles. Additional bosses provide the option of adding fenders and rear racks.

Capable of accommodating tires up to 2.8” wide, the Komorebi is ready for any adventure.
